Biography:

Prior to joining the University of Oxford as a Lecturer in Persian Language, I was a Teaching
Associate in Persian Language and Iranian History and Culture modules at the University of
Exeter's Institute of Arab and Islamic Studies. I hold an MA in Iranian Studies, Folklore, and
Culture from the University of Shahid Beheshti and a BA in Persian Language and Literature from
the University of Tehran.

  • First and Fourth year Persian for BA, MA, and MPhil
  • English to Persian Translation
  • Persian to English Translation

Research Interests:

  • Persian literature and language,
  • Religious and cultural minorities' oral literature,
  • Magic, mythology, and occultism in the Persianate world
