We recently sat down with Dr. Ahmad Hamden, AfOx Fellow at AMES, who shared a comprehensive overview of his rearch on the concept of the Royal Ka in ancient Egyptian history and its significance across different dynasties. Dr. Hamden's focus on the Royal Ka's role in transferring legitimacy from the king to his son, as well as its various depictions and meanings across different periods, connects ancient Egyptian mythology and the importance of names to the political history of the Old Kingdom. His research aligns well with the interdisciplinary nature of The Griffith Institute, renowned for its Egyptological resources.
