The results of the 2017 Recognition of Distinction Exercise have just been announced. Three members of the Faculty of Oriental Studies have been recognised and awarded the title of Professor: Jacob Dahl, who is now Professor of Assyriology, Mohamed-Salah Omri, who is now Professor of Arabic and Comparative Literature, and Nicolai Sinai, who is now Professor of Islamic Studies. This is a great honour for them and for the Faculty and we congratulate these colleagues on their excellent achievement.
