The management committee of the Sheikh Zayed Endowment Fund for Islamic Studies invites applications for small grants by Friday, 16 May 2025. Applications should promote cross-faculty activities to advance Islamic Studies across the University of Oxford.
Since the overall amount of money available for small grants is limited, the management committee reserves the right to allocate less money than sought. Not all applications may be successful. The maximum amount of money available for each grant is £600.
All applicants must fill in the Faculty’s Trust Fund Application Form for small grants (available at https://www.ames.ox.ac.uk/sitefiles/trust-fund-small-grant-form.doc), to be submitted to trustfunds@ames.ox.ac.uk by the above deadline.
The management committee has a broad understanding of the discipline but considers Islamic studies to be distinct from (though potentially overlapping with) adjacent fields, such as Arabic or Persian language and literature or contemporary Middle Eastern politics and society. Applications therefore ought to make a very clear case that the activities to be supported have a primary relevance to Islamic studies.
