Biography:
Alessia Cofone is a DPhil student in Asian and Middle Eastern Studies at Pembroke College. Alessia’s research interests include collective care, kinship, gender performativity, and social reproduction. Her research examines, through feminist lenses, the representation of motherhood in contemporary Japanese literature, focusing on how these narratives challenge normative gender roles and contribute to a broader and more inclusive understanding of mothering and caregiving.
