Research Interests:

I am a first year DPhil student working on relationship between Chosŏn Korea and Qing China. I take each Korean embassies to Qing as a creation of temporary Chosŏn-Qing cultural frontier and their experiences in Qing as cultural encounetrs. By doing so, I intend to interpret this political and diplomatic practice from the perspective of cultural history. Apart from close reading, I will also apply digital methods, like network analysis and text mining, to deepen the understanding of this topic.
