Old Hindi Poetry

  • the emergence of Hindi literary idioms (including Khari Boli) in various scripts;
  • textual transmission and Hindi manuscript culture;
  • Riti poetry and the continuity of classical Sanskrit aesthetics in court literature
  • aesthetic innovation and ‘ritimukt’ poetry in Braj Bhasha;
  • the work of individual poets: Vishnudas, Kabir, Tulsidas, Bajid, Anandghan, Thakur
