Liyana Kayali

 

 

Biography 

Liyana is an interdisciplinary scholar of the Middle East, with a particular interest in Palestine. She has previously held appointments as lecturer at the Australian National University, research fellow at the University of Sussex, postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Sydney, and research associate at the Centre for Gender Studies at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) at the University of London. In 2022 she was awarded the Exiting Violence Fellowship by Columbia Global Centers. Liyana’s research interests encompass gender, popular resistance, restorative justice, and anti-racism.
