Biography:
Seda is a DPhil student in Asian and Middle Eastern Studies, working on morphosyntax and semantics of causativization, with a focus on syntactic theory, especially constraint-based non-transformational frameworks, like Lexical Functional Grammar (LFG), and Turkic languages, such as Azerbaijani (Turkic, South Caucasus). She combines qualitative analysis with quantitative methods and maintains active interests in fieldwork and data-collection methodology. She has presented her work at national and international conferences. Alongside her thesis, she served as a Graduate Training Assistant in the Faculty of Asian and Middle Eastern Studies (2023–24) and as a Research Assistant on the Oxford Phonetics Lab’s Mapping Cypriot project (2022–23). She has held leadership (President, Pembroke MCR, 2023–24), editorial (Humanities Editor, Pembroke Academic Journal, 2022–23), and organisational roles (Oxford Postgraduate Conference in Linguistics, LingO 2024). She is a Master’s Scholar of Pembroke College.
