Biography:
My research focuses on the diplomatic history of early modern Japan. I recently completed my DPhil in Oriental Studies at the University of Oxford, and my thesis examines the agency of the Tsushima domain in Tokugawa Japan– Chosŏn Korea relations. In 2021-2022, I was a special research student at Nagoya University, Japan. I am also the co-convenor of the Early Modern Japanese Palaeography seminar since 2020. Prior to my doctoral study, I received a M.Phil in Traditional East Asia (Oxon, 2018) and a BA in Japanese and History (SOAS, 2016).
