Jieun Kiaer and Loli Kim awarded Hendrik-Hamel Prize for Korean Studies

Prof. Jieun Kiaer and Dr. Loli Kim

 

 

Professor Jieun Kiaer and Dr. Loli Kim were recently awarded the 2023 Hendrik-Hamel Prize for Korean Studies in Europe for their co-authored monograph, Understanding Korean Film: A Cross-Cultural Perspective (2021). 

This prize carries a €2000 cash award and is designated for Korean Studies publications in European languages or in English. 

Professor Jieun Kiaer is Young Bin Min-KF Professor of Korean Linguistics here at the Faculty of Asian and Middle Eastern Studies. Dr. Loli Kim is a Leverhulme Postdoctoral Fellow whose interests lie in Asian multimodal communication, with a large portion of her work focusing on Korea.
